Lorna Ann Sanchez, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully of natural causes on March 2, 2026, in Niles, Michigan, at the age of 90. Born on November 17, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, Lorna was the cherished daughter of the late Otto and Anna (Moshna) Brishke. Her life was a testament to the power of selfless love and the joy of family.
Lorna's heart found its match in Arcadio Sanchez, whom she married and built a life with, full of laughter and shared dreams. Though Arcadio preceded her in death on September 26, 2022, their love story remains a guiding light for their family. Lorna also bore the loss of her son Wayne Sanchez; a grandson, Wayne and her siblings, Paul and Milton Brishke, Alice Davenport, Sandra Tarlton, Carol Rodriguez, and Arlene Reynolds, and son-in-law, Delbert Green, with grace and resilience.
Lorna's legacy lives on through her loving daughter, Lucy Sanchez-Green; her devoted sons, Ruben and Leon Sanchez; her daughter-in-law, Shirley Sanchez; her adored grandchildren; Christina, Melissa, Shelby, Wendy, Wayne and Arcadio; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Ciara, Elysia, Dannilynn, Dohmanic, Serenity, and Estrella; her treasured great-great-granddaughter, Emlynn and soon to be great-great grandson, Arcadio De'Leon; She also leaves behind a host of cherished nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
A proud retiree from Industrial Coils in Niles, Lorna dedicated many years of service to the company, earning the respect and friendship of her colleagues. Her commitment to her community was further reflected in her past membership at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Lorna's interests painted the picture of a woman who cherished the simple pleasures in life. She was an avid cook, often found canning the fruits of her labor for friends and family to enjoy. Her front porch was a haven where she welcomed neighbors and loved ones for heartfelt conversations and shared moments. Fishing trips with her beloved Arcadio were among her most treasured memories, where they would sit side by side in tranquil companionship.
Memorial contributions may be made in Lorna's memory to Caring Circle Hospice at 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, Michigan 49085. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with a time of visitation beginning at Noon. An interment will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery.
