Lorraine Kay Anderson, 85, of Cambridge, Ill., passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Hillcrest Home in rural Geneseo, Ill.

Lorraine was born on August 28, 1940, in Collinson Maternity Home in Galva, Ill., the daughter of George Marcus and Nellie (Blust) Dowell. She graduated Galva High School in 1958. She married Larry R. Anderson on January 24, 1959, in Galva, Ill.

Surviving is husband, Larry R Anderson, Cambridge; children, Lorry Kay (Jerry) Shawgo, Orion, Larry (Kandra) Anderson, Geneseo; grandchildren, Ashton (Jarret) Schmoll, Aleesha K. Shawgo, Maddux Anderson, Diavi McDuffy, Lakota Frank, and Sienna Frank; great-grandchildren, Liam, Evelyn, Bain, Mila, and Claire; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Anderson and Lanny (Carolyn) Anderson; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald and Billy Dowel; sister, Helen Ketchem; her parents-in-law, Earl and Lucille Anderson; step-grandson, Julian Pearson; sister-in-law, Donna Anderson; and five nephews.

Lorraine worked at Galva Farm Equipment, the Henry County Circuit Clerk's Office, and then for 32 years in the Henry County States Attorney's Office until retiring in 2003.

She was a former member of the Cambridge Jaycettes, and the Cambridge Lutheran Church, where she had taught Sunday school, and is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion. Lorraine had been a Girl Scout Leader and Den Mother for several years.

Lorraine loved bowling and bowled in Galva, Cambridge, and Orion for many years. She enjoyed following sporting and other events for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Not only was she a fan of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was known by all teammates and their families. She was affectionately known as Grandma to all that experienced her presence in the stands. She often was known as the person/grandma that had snacks. She cherished and loved all of these moments. She loved all who she watched, they were all her "grandkids".
