Lorraine Deppe Obituary
Waseca - Lorraine Ida Deppe, 82, of Waseca, MN, died at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital, Mankato, MN, on October 29, 2025.
She was born in Waseca County on September 24, 1943, to Stewart Fell and Leila Dorothy (Brooks) Fell. Lorraine was baptized at home by Rev. Ezra Budke on June 14, 1950. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca. Lorraine graduated from Waseca High School in 1961. Lorraine married Gene Henry Deppe at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca on November 10, 1962. Lorraine was content being a homemaker, wife, and mother to her children. She helped out at her brother-in-law Bill's restaurant and cleaned houses after the kids were older.
Lorraine was a kind woman who had time to talk to anyone who gave her a kind smile. She came from a family of 10 brothers and sisters. She cherished getting together with family. They would laugh and tease each other, play cards, enjoy music and just have fun while the kids played with their cousins. Lorraine loved Gene, spoiled their kids, grandchildren, nieces and nephews with sweets, kisses, and attention. Her pastimes were sewing, baking, playing cards, bingo, drinking tea and watching Wheel of Fortune.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Kevin (Nancy Nelson) Deppe of Brownton, Julie Darrington of Waseca; grandchildren, Amanda (Alex) Beyer of Holloway, Megan (Spencer) Morsching of St. Clair; son-in-law, Gregg Darrington of Janesville; sisters, Lois Ernsting of LeSueur, Alice(Joe) Pepin of Milaca; brothers, Ray Fell of Waseca, Frank (Brenda) Fell of Meriden, Robert (Gail) Fell of Pharr, TX; sister-in-laws, Shirley Conway of Waseca, Barbara (Robert) Larson of Mound; brother-in-laws, Cornelius(Ruth Ann) Rietveld of Glennville, Ron Ernsting of LeSueur, Jerry Tesch of LeSueur; and many nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gene; siblings, Pearl (Gordy) Osterman of Henderson, Charlie (Jeanette) Fell of Waseca, Nancy Rietveld of Deer River, Judy Ernsting of LeSueur, Deborah Tesch of LeSueur; sisters-in-law, Arlys Fell of Waseca, Gladys (Bill) Kletschka of Waseca, Betty (Loren) Biggerstaff; brothers-in-law, Elroy Ernsting, Robert "Bud" Deppe, Orville (Gwenn) Deppe, and Glen Conway.
Visitation will be held from 9-11 am on Friday, November 7, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church with the funeral service beginning at 11 am at the church. Lunch will be served following the service. A private burial service will be held at a later date.
