Lorraine Johnson

Hayes: Lorraine Shackelford Johnson, 88, died Saturday, August 13, 2011. Lorraine was a 1941 graduate of Achilles High School and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. She retired from Binns Fashion Shop, Williamsburg after 35 years as a fashion buyer. Her optimistic spirit, love for her family and exceptionally kind heart will continue to resonate and inspire us forever. She was devoted to her family and they will cherish her memory always. Her husbands, Garland W. Shackelford and M. Raymond Johnson; parents Raymond and Bessie Thomas; and brother, Billy Thomas preceded her in death. She is survived by: Daughters: Ellen Collier and husband Glenn Mary Jo Cumbia and husband Gene Son: Garland T. “Tommy� Shackelford and wife Glenda Step daughter: Gail Reardon Step sons: Donald Johnson Gary Johnson Brother: Gerald R. Thomas Grandchildren: Jason Collier Tracy Shackelford Britton Shackelford Courtney Collier Anna Cork Eian Cork Ashleigh Cork Kelley Neal Heidi Lancaster-Taylor 11 Great grandchildren Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Bethany United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Rosewell Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Our family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Sanders and Riverside Walter Reed Hospital for the care and love given to our mother.
