Lorraine Ormsby Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McGhee-Givnish Funeral Home, Inc. on Apr. 5, 2023.
Lorraine P. Ormsby, of Southampton, passed away on March 27, 2023. She was 86. Lorraine was born in Philadelphia to Sophie (Duris) and John Panikowski. She is survived by her loving children, Charles W., Jr. (Linda) and Maryanne Ormsby; grandchildren, Charles, III (Jessica), Ashleigh Morales (Andre), Brittany Keener (Brad), Clint and Nick Ormsby; great grandchildren, Max and Rose Ormsby, Tiernan, Mason, Lauren and Matthew Morales, and Brayden, Kai and Ayla Keener; siblings, Christine Bradley and David Panikowski; and daughter in law, Dr. Adrianna Ormsby-Restrepo. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 2005, her son, Richard in 2003 and her siblings, John, Barbara, Patrick and Paul.
Lorraine was an active member of the Upper Southampton community for 62 years. She supported many organizations including the Kiwanis Club, Southampton Band, OLGC (as the director of the summer CCD program), the Diversified Dames, and a member of the Democrat and Republican parties. She loved the Mummers, dancing the Polka, Westerns, and Johnny Cash. She loved to be a clown and sell balloons at the OLGC carnival and at the Shelmire Happening. She dedicated her life to service as a leader for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Lorraine enjoyed watching baseball with her husband, mostly for the Philly Phanatic. As a teacher assistant in special needs classrooms, education was always her goal. She encouraged everyone to pursue their education, children, grandchildren, and others. Although she was never able to get her degree, she made sure others did. Education was her passion. She was an inspiration to all that knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to Lorraine's Life Celebration on Tuesday Apr. 11, 2023 from 10 to 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 611 Knowles Ave., Southampton, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30. Lorraine will be laid to rest at Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Ambler. The Ormsby family has requested donations in her name be made to Building A Bridge to Uganda, P.O. Box 26, Richboro, PA 18954 or bridgetouganda.org.
