Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. - Sterling Heights on Jan. 11, 2022.
SAVAGE, Lorraine. January 6, 2022. Age 95. Beloved wife of the late August. Dearest Mother of Richard (Christine), Marilyn (the late Joseph) Gabriel, Cheryl (Michael) Wiita, Robert (Kimberly), James (Christina), Laura (Michael) Kattleman, and Patricia (David) Osborn. Loving grandmother of the late Michael (Candace) Gabriel, Linda (James) Maksymiuk, Karen (Jaime) Vinette, Jason (Sandra) Savage, Jeffrey (Amanda) Savage, David (Kimberly) Wiita, Selena Savage, Merissa (Jason) Hudnall, Lisa (Jefferson) Hughes, Kevin (Rachel) Ferguson, Jessica (Will) Weissberg, Brandon Savage, Brian (Anne Gmeiner) Osborn, Jaclyn (Joshua) Alexander, Anna Marquette (Joe Scalici), Chelsea Kattleman (Jeremy Agosta), and cherished "GG" by 26 great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Lauren, Clayton, Jillian, Jonah, Gavin, Brayden, Emily, Allison, Trevin, Robert, Aubrey, Andrew, Reagan, Avery, Alexis, Jack, Payson, Kennedy, Elara, Isabella, Theodora, Nash, Lincoln, Brycen, Emersyn. Loving sister of Richard (Lois) Bell, the late Donna (Louis) Chuchran, Betty Jane (the late Jack) Groner, and favorite Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Lorraine and Augie started on a path in creating a large loving family many years ago and that family has grown exponentially throughout her lifetime. She was the best Mom, Grandma & GG that anyone could ask for. She was a familiar face in the crowd, she never missed an event in any of our lives and made us all feel special. She was the rock, pillar, and heart of the Savage family. She was silly, sassy, stubborn, a fighter and LOVE – like a warm blanket cozied up on the couch. She was a backyard full of cousins playing HORSE, a warm family recipe of spaghetti, blueberry syrup on your pancakes, a salad with every meal, a bowl of ice cream, and "tastes like more" a Sunday evening with most of the family huddled in her living room every week watching America's Funniest Videos while taking 2 hours to decide what to eat. She was too many family members crowded around a creaking dining room table playing cards, Mexican train, or building puzzles. She was a whistler while she moved around the house, a girl who blushed at a cute man even into her 80's. A BABY LOVER until the end. She was a little giggle, an always wearing lipstick kinda gal – she was everything a Mom, Grandma & GG is supposed to be and we will feel her light and love surround us forever. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions to St, Judes Children Research Hospital are appreciated.
