Lorraine Warren Obituary

The most selfless, loving, giving, caring and gentle wife, mother, grandmother, friend and truly wonderful woman passed from us to the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ and to reunite with loved ones she hasn't seen for many years and missed so desperately.
Our sorrow is deep and we will miss her every day of our lives until such time as we may join her again.
Lorraine was born on Feb. 2, 1921, to Selma Folvig, in Mentor, Minn. She was raised and ingrained with her deep ability to love by her mother; her maternal grandparents, Hans and Louise Folvig; and by her aunt and uncle, Charles and Helga Graham. Her grandparents immigrated to the United States from Larvik, Norway. Lorraine spoke Norwegian and enjoyed conversing with her Aunt Helga, much to our chagrin … we just knew they were talking about us. They sure smiled and laughed a lot.
Lorraine gave birth to three daughters: Gjorgine "Gina," Sally Lynn (died in infancy) and Shirline "Sherry." Her children revered and cherished her. Thank you, God, for the blessing of our mother … a gift beyond measure.
In 1958, Lorraine married the love of her life, Jesse "Joe" L. Warren, Jr. Jesse filled her life with love and security and became the instant father of her two daughters. They stick-built their home as their income permitted. The outside had to be built soundly first, so for a time, the kitchen cupboards were boxes, the walls were 2'x4's and you could see down into the basement through knotholes. She took all of this in stride and was quite proud of having helped her husband build their home. She loved to tell the story of her being on top of the roof putting on the shingles. Knowing this woman, this was quite the feat … she was very much a lady. They celebrated their 49th anniversary on the 29th of August. Lorraine was so excited to have "made it" to their 50th year. Lorraine was an excellent wife, taking care of her husband, her children and their home. Towards the end of her life, Jesse repaid her love by taking care of her. Theirs was a solid and enduring love.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her mother, Selma; her daughter, Sally Lynn; her daughter, Gina; granddaughter Jackie; and many cherished friends and family.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Jesse; her daughter, Sherry Holt; grandchildren Sheri (Breezy) Keil, Lacey Williams (Steve), Christi Stahl, Kevin Brennan and Joe Garcia (Boni). She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Surviving also are sisters-in-law Olga Steele and Betty Whisenhunt and families, and best friend Eleanor Largis.
Celebration of Lorraine's life will be held Friday, Nov. 23, at 10 a.m., at Smith's Funeral Chapel, 925 S. 27th St., Billings.
Memorials can be made to the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center, American Cancer Society or any other charity of your choice.
Ye elska day, Momma! No, we love you more than that!
