Lorraine Mae White
Lorraine Mae White, a life-long resident of South Windsor, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025. She was 96 years old.
Lorraine was born March 1, 1929, in Manchester, CT, to the late Reuben and Gladys (Fromerth) White. "Rainey" was a 1948 graduate of Ellsworth High School in South Windsor. She went on to earn her master's degree and spent her career at Aetna Life Insurance Company, where she retired in 1988 after 31 years of dedicated service. Lorraine was also a faithful longtime member of Wapping Community Church in South Windsor.
She is survived by her beloved niece Ellen Sharp and her husband Harry; grandnephew James Sharp and wife Kimberly, and their children Kassidy and Dylan Sharp; grandnephew Robert Sharp and wife Lynne, and their twin children Jackson and Addison; as well as many cousins. In addition to her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Edith White.
At the request of her family, a private burial will be in the Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Samsel and Carmon Funeral Home in South Windsor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society at www.cthumane.org or to a no kill animal shelter of your choosing.
