Ballard-Durand Funeral & Cremation Services of White PlainsLorrane (Haynes) Keesler, 70, of Mount Vernon, NY, passed away peacefully at home on December 2, 2025, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous 4-year battle with colon cancer.
Born on April 7, 1955, in Bridgetown, Barbados, to Frank Vaughn and Joyce Haynes, Lorrane later immigrated to the United States, where she built a life marked by dedication and hard work. She was employed by the United States Postal Service for 37 years before her retirement. She also celebrated a long-held goal by graduating with an Associate's Degree from Westchester Community College while still working full-time in 2006.
She married Raymond Keesler Jr., who also worked for the USPS, on December 3, 1984 in Mount Vernon City Hall. They shared nearly four decades together before his passing in June of this year. They took many family vacations together, enjoying the Jersey Shore, Disney World and trips back to her hometown in Barbados.
Lorrane found joy in the simple and beautiful things of life-spending time in nature, cooking meals for those she loved, and settling in with a good British mystery or comedy. The John Tesh radio show was always on in the background while she was in the kitchen.
Lorrane is survived by her daughter, Vanessa; sister Rosita; brothers Tyrone, Deighton, Arundell and Wendell; and her cherished fur grandbabies, Yuna and Kimahri. She is also remembered lovingly by her many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, and husband Raymond.
Light refreshments will be served during the viewing. A private burial will be held in the future. Flowers are welcome. The family also invites donations in Lorrane's memory to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
Lorrane's wish for everyone is to "Grieve not nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you".
