Lorren C. McClain, age 85, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025 at Corewell Health – Butterworth Hospital in
Grand Rapids, MI. He was born March 18, 1940 to Willis and Barbara (Anderson) McClain. He lived in the Muskegon County area most of his life. He was employed by Shaw-Walker/Knoll Corp. for 45 years and retired in 2000. Lorren loved the Lord with his whole heart and was active in several southern gospel quartets and singings with his family. He was a worship leader for approximately 30 years, went to Africa with a missionary team, and was an intern pastor for a short time. Throughout Lorren's life, he loved sports and was active in hockey fast-pitch baseball, softball, and golf. He also built several homes with his family and worked on various construction projects while working full time. Lorren met Tamara Nickell Wirrick in the Muskegon County area and married in South Bend, Indiana on November 3, 2000. Their home church is Christian Life Center, 16765 Hemlock in
Spring Lake, MI. Survivors include his loving wife, Tamara; 3 sons, Barak (Grace) McClain, Jeff (Nancy) McClain, Paul (Sharon) McClain and 1 stepson, Brett Erickson; 3 generations of grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Vivian Netzler; 4 brothers, Victor (Rebecca) McClain, Brent (Ruth) McClain, Bruce (Jackie) McClain, Weldon McClain; 4 sisters, Crystal Wilson, Audrey (Hank) Hendrickson, Sherril (Glen) French, Ester Luckett; 4 sisters-in-law, Shirley McClain, Judy McClain, Rose McClain, and Michelle McClain; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Barbara McClain; 5 brothers, Sonny, Curtiss, Phil, Brian and Mark; and 1 stepson, Brandon Cox. A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 27, 2025 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St,
Norton Shores, MI 49444, with Pastor Ron McClain officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
