Cookie and family.
I loved Lou like a brother. For six years at the turn of the millennium Lou and I walked five miles together and talked our way through those days and our lives. For me those days and those conversations were like magic to me. I never had a kinder, sweeter friend than Lou and I have missed him profoundly since he left Virginia Beach for Jackson.
My sympathy to the family is great and heartfelt.
May he rest in eternal peace.

Margaret and Family:
I learned of Lou´s passing about a week ago. So VERY sorry for your loss. I met Lou in RI >40 years ago, and have reconnected with him over the years- most recently when you lived here in eastern Virginia. He has been a friend and mentor to me over the years. I can´t say enough about his kindness, service to those underserved in medicine, and his commitment to addressing mental health issues. He exemplified a "life well lived", and will most surely will be missed by all those he touched over the years.
Again, my heartfelt condolences.
