A Mass of Christian burial will be held for LouAnna Lachney on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer, beginning at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Derek Ducote officiating.
LouAnna Lachney, age 80, of Hessmer, Louisiana, entered into rest on January 21, 2024. She was born in Cottonport, Louisiana, on August 28, 1943, to Lonis and Theresa Michot Dauzat.
Mrs. Lachney is preceded in death by her parents, Lonis Joseph Dauzat and Theresa Michot Dauzat.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Shelia Moreau (Clint) of Mansura, Louisiana; son, Michael James Lachney (DeAnne) of Boyce, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Holli Moreau (Skyler Hines) of Kaplan, Louisiana; Christopher Lachney of Denver, Colorado; Matthew Lachney of Youngsville, Louisiana; Casey Moreau (Kayla) of Marksville, Louisiana; one great grandchild, Hudson Hines of Kaplan, Louisiana; two brothers, Charles Dauzat (Carol) of Picayune, Mississippi and Luther Dauzat (Nellie) of Hessmer, Louisiana as well as her long time companion, Ury Mayeaux of Hessmer, Louisiana.
LouAnna was a loving Mother and Grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, reading, fishing and the occasional Saints football game. She faithfully devoted many years to her career at the Country Store in Hessmer, Louisiana. LouAnna will be dearly missed by many.
Pallbearers will be Luther Dauzat, Christopher Lachney, Mathew Lachney, Casey Moreau, Clint Moreau, and Skyler Hines.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in the chapel of Rose-Neath’s Funeral Home in Marksville from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The recitation of The Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. A continued visitation will be held the following morning from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A procession to Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer will follow. Mass will begin at 1:30 p.m. and entombment will be held at Saint Alphonsus Mausoleum after Mass.
