Louis A. Kachel, 77, of Narvon, passed away April 18, 2024 at Sinking Spring Nursing & Rehab, Spring Township where he was a guest.
Born in Robeson Township, he was a son of the late Marvin I. Kachel, Sr. and Mabel G. (Eager) Kachel. He was the husband to Nancy E. (Beavens) Kachel. They would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in June.
Louis was a mechanic his entire life working at Eisenhower Imports, Wernersville, Reading Boat Works, Muhlenberg Twp., Universal Machine Company, Reading, Stoltzfus RV, Adamstown, and had his own business – K&L Auto, Frystown, last working in 2004.
Raised in the Methodist Church, Louis loved archery, hunting and his dogs. He would often tell everyone that his dogs behaved better than his children. He was a member of the Kempton, Shartlesville and Lenhartsville Rod and Gun Clubs as well as the Ephrata Archers.
In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by his children – Lynn L. wife of Kevin Maxson, Lebanon, Kevin E. husband of Jamie Kachel, Narvon, Beth A. wife of Curtis Lash, III, Hamburg, his siblings, Joyce widow of Richard Good, Reinholds, David Kachel companion Deb Shuyler, Todd, PA, Marvin Kachel, Jr. husband of Mary Lou, Orwigsburg, Dawn wife of Steve Sitler, Laurel, DE, Nancy wife of Sam Lesher, Lewis, DE, Mabel wife of Roland Hill, Denver, PA, Kenneth husband of Kim Kachel, Mohnton, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers – Thomas, John and Lester.
Funeral services on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 12 Noon from Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. Pastor Lou Hornberger will officiate. Interment to follow in Wyomissing Cemetery, Gouglersville. Viewing on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
