Louis S. Kovach
Our hearts are heavy and our tears are streaming as our beloved husband, father, pappy,
brother, uncle, and cousin, Louis S. Kovach passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21st, 2025.
Lou was born on September 25, 1958 to Louis and Mary Jane Kovach (Giel) in Fort Rucker
Alabama. He was raised in Hampton, PA as the oldest of five: Marilou (Kevin), Mark (Wendy), Lauri (Tim), and Matt (Jackie). He married his wonderful wife Cynthia (McGrath), on July 31, 1982 and in the coming years they welcomed two sons of which he was so proud: Christopher Louis and Bradley Stephen. The three quickly became the lights of his life. Lou was a liver transplant recipient dating back to June 21, 1988. At a time when transplants were typically met with a grim outcome, we were blessed to share 37 more years with him, to his wife and kids, a lifetime we may have never known. To everyone that made that possible, we are so, so very thankful, and yet, somehow, it still doesn't feel long enough. What we wouldn't give for just a little more time. Lou was a consummate provider and jack of all trades, whether it be lending a hand (or two) on a home or car project with family or friends, driving his sons to late-night and early morning practices, or working over-time to ensure his family was taken care of. He lived a life defined by quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and a deep commitment to those he loved. Be it baseball, basketball, or ice hockey, sports weren't always his pastime, but his wife and his sons were, and
because of that, he rarely missed a game. He enjoyed traveling, having just returned from six weeks in Europe getting lost in both love and train stations with the true apple of his eye, Cindy. His last great accomplishment was that he was an extremely proud father-in-law to Tiffany, and Pappy to Evelyn and Charlotte. To his granddaughters, you will never know just how deep his love and adoration for you goes. May a piece of him be with all of us, always. In our day-to-day, on our adventures, and when we are cursing at a project that is taking three times longer than expected. We love you and we are heartbroken.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, we would appreciate memorial contributions being made to C.O.R.E. 204 Sigma Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15238-www.core.org.
Services and Interment will be private. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date to be determined.
