Williamsburg-Dr. Louis A. Lorenzo, 77, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family members, Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025 in Williamsburg, Iowa. He was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Louis Anthony Lorenzo, Sr. and Mary Rose Lorenzo (née Grieco).
Lou, known as “Dr. Lou” to his patients and friends, grew up in New Jersey. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Monmouth College before earning a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic.
Soon after graduation from Palmer, Lou established his practice on Beverwyck Road in the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany, NJ, where he served thousands of patients from 1981 to 2016.
Lou was united in marriage to Francene Striegel on July 18, 1983, in Parsippany, NJ.
Known for his warm and unwavering commitment to his patients’ wellbeing, Lou had a decades-long career grounded in a passion for holistic health and natural healing, and that extended well beyond his office walls.
A member of the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors, Dr. Lou spoke regularly to students at local schools and elsewhere in the greater community about chiropractic, healthy living and the power of positive thinking. As a volunteer, he cared for golfers participating in the LPGA Tour during tournaments in New Jersey and New York. Throughout his lengthy career, he treated many high school, college and professional athletes.
“A lot of people don’t like their jobs, but I love what I do. I love serving the public,” Lou said in a 2007 newspaper interview.
He was also an active, longtime member of the Kiwanis of Greater Parsippany and the Sons of Italy Lodge 2561.
Prior to attending chiropractic school, Lou lived in Merced, California where he worked for several years as a city planner.
He retired to Williamsburg, Iowa in 2021.
Lou will be deeply missed by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Francene Lorenzo, daughter, Patrice Lorenzo of Turlock, California; son Daren Lorenzo (Lindsay) of Lamar, South Carolina; son Jay Lorenzo of Twentynine Palms, California; daughter-in-law Stephanie Lorenzo of Williamsburg, Iowa; sister Marilyn Dolan of Cedar Knolls, NJ; sister Millie Payack, of Austin, Texas; and six grandchildren: Jayce Nikolas McVey, Loren Rose Bostrom, Ayden Joshua Lorenzo, Alessandra Vera Lorenzo, Oliver Daren Lorenzo and Lana Rose Lorenzo. He is predeceased by his parents and younger brother Joseph Lorenzo.
Celebration of Life Gathering will be Friday, November 14, 2025, at the K. C. Hall in Harper, from noon to 3:00 pm. Please come and join the family for lunch and fellowship during this time.
