I am so sorry to learn this news about Lou!
Though we never met in person, I found Lou through this WWII blog. Lou's father and mine were on the same landing craft (The LCT-540) on Omaha Beach in the very early action on D-Day. Lou Jr. was extremely helpful to me as I have been attempting to write a book on the extraordinary story of the LCT-540 and the brave men on board. Lou was always kind, and the work he undertook to interview all the men still living about 20 or so years ago (including my dad) from the LCT-540 - has given this book wings with such personal accounts that have truly brought this story to life.
I feel very lucky to have known Lou Jr, and also Lou Sr. through the story.
My heart goes out to the entire family. Your family will always be in my heart.

I´ve know Lou since I was 14, when his daughter, Maureen, became my friend for life. He was always kind and patient to us as teens and especially generous to the neighborhood kids who needed extra parental guidance. As an adult, he was another pop-pop to my daughters. At every family party you could find Lou on the ground letting the grandkids run all over him. I´m forever grateful to have known him and for my kids to have known him.

So sorry to hear this - Lou and I were friends at Neumann. Always willing to help and always had a very positive view - not easy at Neumann. He was a big part of our Class of '68 - much respected and cared for.
