Louis Hill Marix

Louis passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 9, 2024, at the age of 76. He was a retired pipefitter with Local 198, resident of Donaldsonville and native of Plaquemine, LA. A memorial mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, celebrated by Father Jason Palermo. Private family interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Louis is survived by his children, Michele Cooley (Chad), Julie Marix, Jed Marix (Amy), and Jonathon "Jono" Marix (Kerry); grandchildren, Brady and Brooks Brannon, Cade Cooley, Aubree and Amelia "Milli" Marix, Charlee and Teddi Marix; siblings, Jookie Marix, Jr., and Bernardine Legendre (David); and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Jook and Bernice Hill Marix. Louis was an avid sports fan, especially LSU and St. Louis Cardinals, which he passed down to his children and grandchildren. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Gwen Morris, Lois Sawyer, Nikki Meads, and Laverne Lawson for all of their loving care and devotion.
