Louis Ray Massey

Louis Ray Massey passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, in Jackson, MS. He was 83 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. followed by burial in the Garden of Memories. 

Ray was born on February 16, 1941, to Elston Earl Massey and Sara Kirkland Massey in Kemper County, MS. In 1972 he became the owner and operator of Massey Automotive and Machine Company. He would continue with his success for 52 plus years. Ray loved rebuilding cars, and his company was his baby. Ray loved going to the casinos and he would win more than he would lose. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Especially fishing. Above all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Ray is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann Massey; daughter, Donna Dessert; siblings, Jimmy Massey, Margaret Smith, and Carolyn Jacobs. He is survived by his son, Dennis Massey (Dianne) of Florence; sister, Irene Page of Collinsville, MS; grandchildren, Danielle Rogers (Jacob) of Brandon, Sean Massey (Faith) of Florence, and Haley Cushing of Jackson; and great grandchildren, Luke Rogers, Amelia Rogers, Samuel Ray Massey, and Ava Cushing.
