Louis Mehr Obituary
After graduating from Davis High School, Louis proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, completing active duty during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He later earned his law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston.
In 1952, Louis married the love of his life, Margaret Blount, and together they shared 73 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion.
Louis was a man of many passions. He was an avid model railroader who loved train rides, dining out, and spending time with friends and family. His deep sense of duty and community led him to serve as Honor Guard Captain for VFW Post 9182 for 13 years, where he took great pride in honoring fellow veterans.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret; son, Louis R. Mehr; daughter-in-law, Terry G. Mehr, sister, Patsy Mehr; grandchildren, Sara, Sam, Jennifer, Raoul Gonzalez, and Amy Ferguson; and three great-grandchildren.
Louis was preceded in death by his daughter, Margaret Gonzalez; son-in-law, Raoul Gonzalez; and his parents, Inez and Louis F. Mehr.
Louis will be remembered for his steadfast character, his dedication to family and country, and his warmth and friendship to all who knew him.
