Louis Schaner

My deepest sympathies to the family. He held me as a little girl (early 70´s)on his lap in a rocking chair at Doctors Hospital when I was hospitalized for nephritis (Bright´s disease). He became all three of my children´s pediatrician too. I wanted the best. I will never forget his sweet smile, patience with each patient, and fun personality.

Our deepest sympathies to the family of Dr. Schaner. It was truly an honor to have him as our children’s peds doctor for their first eighteen years of life. I remember him telling our son, Trent that he would still treat him even though he was attending college at Kent State. Our deepest condolences to your family. My children had the honor of having him as their pediatrician. He had diagnosed my son with leukemia in 2001. I will never forget that day for so many reasons. I will always remember how he consoled me and the reassurance he gave that my son would receive excellent care at ACH. An excellent diagnostician with a lifelong devotion to caring for children (as well as the parents).

Dr shnsner saved my life saversl times , I was a sick child smd grew up in the halls of doctors hoxpit till I was about turn 4 . I new colors by the flavor of popsicle and he nor the nurses turned me down . I always loved to see him for.check ups and cried when I turned 18 but I told him doc you csnt retire till my kids turn 18 , he made it through one of my kids and only had 2 years to go . With tears in my eyes I said goodbye to a doctor that out of hundreds of patients may tjisands he didn´t forget me . Doc thank you for your kind soul thank you for saving me all those times . You r so loved smd cheridned . To your family you got the best ! Thank you for sharing Jim it´s been almost 50 years you become my doctor smd he hit tjr ground running with me never giving up . Rest doc we will not forget you !

I had the great honor and pleasure to meet Dr. Schaner when I was a pharmaceutical rep. I always looked forward to calling on him because he truly was special with his warmth, kindness and his delightful sense of humor. Once when I was trying to sell him a particular syrup for pediatric use, he tasted it, spit it out, washed his mouth out and proceeded to say, "let's figure out a strategy for selling this". On another occasion I showed him a picture of my new puppy. He said "oh I want you to come with me". He took me in to meet a first time new mother, holding her beautiful infant, beaming with pride and said, this is "Brenda and she's a new mother too" and showed her the picture of my puppy. The poor woman said, "oh, it's a dog" and we all laughed hysterically. Not only did he bring great medical care to every patient, he always found a way to bring brightness and smiles to others and was very much a Mensch to me. May his memory be a blessing to all who were blessed to know him.

I use to work for Dr schaner in alliance. He was an awesome Dr. Will never forget him.
