Louis E. "Bud" Schutt, 88, of Streamwood, formerly of Huntley, passed away Monday, February 27, 2023, at Alexian Brother Hospice in Elk Grove Village.
He was born July 27, 1934, in Chicago the son of Louis J. and Alice (Van Hook) Schutt. Louis was a member of the Army National Guard. He married Betty Jean Erickson on September 13, 1958. Louis was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Huntley, and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus with St. Mary Council #13666, also Holy Name Society at St. Marcelline Catholic Parish in Schaumburg.
Bud spent many years on his stamp collecting and enjoyed going to stamp shows, he was also a collector of beer steins. He was a skilled carpenter, finishing basements and adding on home additions. He loved camping, and traveled all over the U.S., Europe, Italy, Germany, the Netherland, and France to name a few. He loved hosting the family at holidays and summer BBQ's at his house. Bud attended many events involving is children and grandchildren, including baseball games, hockey games, graduations, dance recitals, plays, etc.
Surviving is his children, Laura (Frank) Sylvester, David (Bridget) Schutt, Michael (Mary Jane) Schutt; 12 grandchildren, Nick (Amanda), Kayleigh, Breanna, Tyler, Angelo, Annamarie, Mary Kate, Matthew, Zachary, Samantha, and Alexa; great-grandchildren, Eligh, Dominic, Reighlynn, and Kaiden; a future great-grandson; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Betty Jean, on May 30, 2009; his daughter, Kelly Schutt on September 20, 2021; and two sisters, Faye, and Alice.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, March 4 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Rd. in Huntley. Inurnment of cremains with Military Honors will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery in Huntley.
Visitation will be held prior to mass from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
