Seekonk, MA - Louise Andrea (Benedetti) Alaownis, 71, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. She was the loving wife of Gary R. Alaownis for forty-seven years. Born in Springfield, MA, she was a daughter of the late Alfredo and Evelyn (Vanotti) Benedetti.
Louise worked as a Medical Technician in the Microbiology labs at both Miriam and Rhode Island Hospitals for over forty years. As a devout Catholic, she was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish in Seekonk, MA. Louise devoted her time to her family and many parish organizations and charities. Over the years, she was an active member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society, the St. Mary’s Women’s group, organized the parish Youth Ministry, ran the kitchen at the Christmas Bazaar, and began the parish Giving Tree program. Louise’s legacy will be one of dedication, kindness, and generosity. In her free time, she also enjoyed crossword puzzles, baking, and the occasional trip to Twin River with her husband, Gary.
Alongside her husband, Louise leaves her beloved children, Stephen Alaownis of South Hadley, MA and Andrea Alaownis of Pawtucket, RI; her grandson, Antonio; her twin-sister, Frederica O’Malley, and sisters, Leonore Daniele and Teresa Benedetti, and pre-deceased by her infant brother Alfred; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 16th, at 10 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish, Coyle Drive, Seekonk, MA. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Pawtucket. VISITATION will be held on Monday, December 15th, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Shriners Children, c/o Office of Philanthropy, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607 would be appreciated.
