Louise Kelly Alapai I, affectionately known as Pai to her friends and family, was a beacon of love and faith in the community of Honolulu, where she was both born on March 1, 1965, and peacefully passed away on August 31, 2025. Pai's journey through life was marked by her unwavering spirit and the joy she brought to those around her.
Pai was a proud graduate of McKinley High School, where she cultivated friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime. She dedicated many years of service as a crossing guard, a role in which she ensured the safety and well-being of countless children in her neighborhood. Her commitment to her work was a testament to her caring and protective nature.
Throughout her life, Pai was deeply involved in her faith, a cornerstone that guided her through life's ebbs and flows. Her belief was a source of strength and comfort, not only to her but also to those she encountered. It was this faith that shone brightly in her actions and the love she shared with her family.
Pai's life was rich with the love of her devoted husband, Rodney I, and their three children, Jordan I (Maejah), Jonah I, and Genesis Anguay (Eugene). The family was her pride and joy, growing over the years to include 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Each child and grandchild was a testament to Pai's legacy of love and the values she instilled in them.
Among Pai's favorite pastimes were traveling with Rodney, her partner in adventure, and 'talking story' with her friends. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like playing the ukulele and singing with her grandchildren, creating moments of happiness and harmony that will be cherished forever.
Pai was the embodiment of love, selflessness, and faith. Her actions spoke louder than words, yet she lived by the well-known quote attributed to Mother Teresa: "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." This philosophy was evident in every aspect of Pai's life, from her gentle demeanor to her generous spirit.
As we remember Louise Kelly Alapai I, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and grace. Her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her to live with kindness, to cherish family above all, and to approach each day with a heart full of love. Pai's legacy will live on in the stories shared by her loved ones and the countless lives she touched with her gentle soul. Her journey on earth may have ended, but her spirit remains a guiding light for all who were blessed to know her.
