Virginia "Louise" Blanken was born on May 16, 1939, in Gainesboro, TN and passed away at Tri State Manor in Harrogate, TN on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the age of 86. Virginia was the daughter of David Lyod Goolsby and Susie Ila Goolsby.
She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Louise had a passion for quilting and crocheting. She spent many hours making quilts and crocheting blankets. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Louise loved gardening and was very active. Her pride and joy was her family. She was proud to be call "Grannie". Louise had a special relationship with her great grandchildren: Evan, Kaylynn, Keith Bentley, Oakley and Hunter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse: Bobby Blanken; daughter: Mary Roberts; grandchildren: Marcus Little, Jolene Nemore, Dewey Roberts.
Louise is survived by her son: Benjamin (Missy) Blanken of Knoxville, TN; daughters: Brenda Little of Melvin, KY, Rita Blanken of Harrogate, TN; brothers: Troy Goolsby of MI, David Goolsby of MI; sisters: Martha Burton of MI, Barbara Wheeler of Gainesboro TN; grandchildren: Katina, Tonya, Larry Douglas, Bobbi, Melissa, Dylan, Kevin, Kyle, Cheyenne, Gary, and Jamie of TN; several great grandchildren of TN; several great great grandchildren of TN.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 10 am until 1pm in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Bro. Lakelan Barham will be officiating. Burial will follow in Turkeytown Cemetery.
