Louise Starlings Johnson was born June 19, 1931 (92 years old), in Aiken County, South Carolina to the late Edgar Starlings, Sr. and Mattie Mae Sims Starlings. She departed this life on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at University Hospital.
She was a graduate of Martha Schofield High School in Aiken, South Carolina. At an early age, she joined St. Phillip Baptist Church, Beech Island, South Carolina, where she was a member of the Sr. Choir.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Jessie Paul Johnson, Sr. for 49 years. To this union, six children were born.
In 1995, she retired from University Hospital after 40 years of service.
She was preceded in death by the following: Jessie Paul Johnson, Sr. (husband), Jessie Paul Johnson, Jr. (son – Linda), Larry Johnson (son), Lester Donnie Johnson (son), Hillary Javonia Dunbar-Bryant (grand-daughter), Edgar Starlings, Sr. (father), Mattie Mae Starlings (mother), Carven Starlings (brother), Edgar Starlings, Jr. (brother-Beulah Mae), Cora Lee Starlings (sister), Jimmy Lee Starlings (brother-Ann), Thelma Mae Mcleod (sister).
Surviving to cherish her memories are: Patricia Doris Johnson (daughter-Kevin), Scherrie Loretta Liely (daughter), Javonia Elaine Dunbar (daughter-Russell), grandchildren Damien Xavier Johnson, Angela Denise Johnson, Jessie Paul Johnson, III, Michael Anthony Johnson (Shannon), Haley Antonia Green (Blair), Heather Elaine Diaz, Hope Ryan Dunbar, Bryson Alexander Green (butternut), a very special cousin/sister Maybelle Sims-Redd and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Rowland-Ford Funeral Home on Friday, July 14 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 15 at St. Phillip Missionary Baptist Church in Beech Island at 1:00 PM. Interment in St. Phillip Church Cemetery will follow.
