Louise Johnson Obituary

Published by Ideal Funeral Parlor - Florence on Mar. 16, 2016.
"The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." Psalm 90:10 & 12 Mrs. Louise Echols Johnson was born March 10, 1916 in Darlington County to Theodore and Ella Brown, who died at an early age. She was reared by Eugene and Alease Ellerbe. On Wednesday, March 16, 2016, she entered into eternal rest at her residence, surrounded by her beloved family. Louise received her formal education in the public schools of Florence County, graduating from Old Wilson High School, located on Athens Street in Florence, SC. She was a farmer, a domestic worker, worked at the Cripple Children Home and various other jobs. Louise accepted Christ at an early age and joined Savannah Grove Baptist Church where she was a member of the Usher Board, sung on the Celestial Choir and the Senior Missionary Society. She was also a member of Silver Star Tent #4. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her. Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cleveland Johnson, Sr.; three children, Willie Lee Johnson, Virginia Muldrow and Melvin Johnson; three grandchildren, Yolanda Timmons, Little Virginia Muldrow and Anthony Muldrow. Those left to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy are: her children, Eula Muldrow, Mary Timmons, Cleveland Johnson, Jr., Annie (Phillip) Myers and Marion (Jackie) Johnson; 19 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; numerous others raised as her own; her siblings, Moses Ellerbe, James Ellerbe, Joe Ellerbe, Allie Wanzer and Sarah Jackson; three sisters-in-law, Minnie Johnson, Edith Johnson and Isadora Ellerbe; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
