Louise Lilli Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Forest Ridge Funeral Home-Memorial Park Chapel on Jun. 11, 2024.
On May 22, 2024, our mother, Louise McAndrew Lilli, left us and passed from this life. With each birthday, we knew this day would come, but who is really prepared to be without their parents, especially their mother!
Louise was born on July 6, 1927, and grew up in the small farming town of Bertram, Texas, just north of Austin. She was one of nine children. The brothers (3) and sisters (6) were close as they depended on each other for everything – sharing chores, confidences and companionship. Their lives were full of struggles, but that shared sense of interdependence strengthened them for their whole lives.
Louise met her husband, Henry (Hank) Lilli, when he was stationed in Austin during WW II. They moved to Pennsylvania where she married into a loving Italian family. Hank and Louise moved back to Texas and settled in Dallas. They lived there for 45 years and raised their five children. Taking a leap of faith, they moved to Bedford, Texas, and remained there for the next 25 years. After Hank died in 2005, Louise remained in Bedford until her death.
Louise was gracious, thoughtful and happy. She had many interests – an avid reader with a collection of over 400 books, politically aware, an amazing seamstress, famous for her lasagna, cornbread dressing and chocolate pies.
For almost 25 years, Thursdays were family dinner nights at home or at a local
restaurant.
Those that loved her best are her five children: Mary Michaels (husband Tom, deceased), Paula Root (husband, Michael), Kathy Tartaglia (husband, Bill), Margaret Estep, and David Lilli (wife Nelly). There are 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Louise has one surviving sister, Dena Williams, and sister-in-law, Sara McAndrew, with the third, fourth and fifth generations who will carry on the McAndrew spirit.
We will celebrate our Mother on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 10:30 am. Services will be at Good Shepherd Catholic Community, 1000 Tinker Rd, Colleyville TX. 76034 A reception will follow at the church. All are welcome to attend.
