Louise Mae Matherne, 71, passed away on October 4th, 2025. She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Larose.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 9th, 2025 at House of Prayer Church in Larose, La from 9:00am until service time at 12:00pm.
Louise is survived by her daughters: Sandy D. Bourg (Kent) and Christy M. Gaspard (Marty), son: Dudley J. Dantin; brother: Thomas Matherne, sisters: Doris Najolia, Henrietta Griffin (Whitney Sr.), Virginia Adams, Pauline Sampey (Leo), and Pearl Davis (James); grandchildren: Joey Dantin (Victoria), Trey Dantin, Lare’e Perez (Jay), Christopher “Bubby” Breaux (Cassie), Trevor Manuel (Tayler), Ashton Manuel (Alexia), Camden Dantin, and Naomi Dantin; 3 step-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and 7 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Louis and Minella Matherne; brothers: Louis “J Boy” Matherne and Raymond Matherne; and sister: Sylvia Riverio.
The family would like to give a special thanks to House of Prayer Church for their unwavering love, support, and prayers. They would also like to extend gratitude to Jagger Gisclair for helping in any way he could for Louise. Lastly, a huge thank you to her grandson Christopher “Bubby” and his wife Cassie for living with her and taking care of her every need.
