Loyda Martinez

Loyda Martinez, 76, of Leesburg, Florida went to be with the Lord on November 9, 2025 at Cornerstone Hospice House in Tavares, Florida. Loyda was born October 18, 1949 in New York City, New York to her parents Victor C. Rivera, Jr. and Hilda (Mirailh) Rivera.
She worked for many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Healthcare Industry. Loyda moved to Central Florida in 2014 from the Bronx, New York. She attended the Welcome Home Church in Leesburg, Florida. Loyda loved to work on crafts, especially "Diamond Dots" as well as plastic canvas and other miscellaneous crafts. She loved animals especially her puppy "Prancer" and kitty "Bootsie".
She is survived by her loving daughter: Rachel Vardis and her husband Joseph of Pensacola, FL; father: Victor C. Rivera, Jr. of Miami, FL; two brothers: Elliot Ruiz of California and David Molina of Georgia; four sisters: Bernice Vera of Leesburg, FL, Marlene Ruiz of New York, Maria Patti of Pennsylvania and Dora Volpe of Miami, FL; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and three nieces.
Loyda was preceded in death by her mother, Hilda Rivera, her daughter Deborah Smith and her grandson, Ryan Benedict.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Welcome Home Church in Leesburg, Florida.
