Loys Stephen Anderson, of Magnolia, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with dementia. He was surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, quiet strength, and devotion to his family.
Loys was born and raised in Cypress, Texas, where he grew up on the Josey Ranch - the heart of his happiest boyhood memories. He spent his days outdoors, hunting and fishing with his loyal dog always by his side. He had an explorer's spirit and a sharp eye, often finding arrowheads in the pastures around the ranch. That fascination never faded; throughout his life - especially while surveying land - he continued to search for arrowheads wherever he went, always finding wonder in the world around him.
He attended Cy-Fair High School, where he made lifelong friends and began shaping the thoughtful, hardworking man he would become. Loys went on to build a career as a Land Surveyor, a profession that perfectly suited his love of the outdoors and attention to detail. He retired in 2018 from RODS Surveying, where he was admired for his expertise, integrity, and steady demeanor.
Loys was a man of quiet faith and simple joys. He loved being on the water - fishing along the Texas coast, spending time at his cherished beach house in Sargent, Texas, and enjoying water sports under the sun. His happy place was anywhere near the coast, rod in hand and a soft smile on his face.
He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Patty, with whom he shared 43 wonderful years of marriage. They were truly each other's best friend and constant companion. Together they built a life filled with love and countless cherished memories. Loys also had a tender spot for their little Chihuahuas, especially Sophie, his "baby dog," who rarely left his lap.
Loys will be remembered as a gentle giant - a kind and humble man, a good friend, a loving and devoted husband, a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His warmth and generous heart will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patty Anderson, his parents Loys Anderson, Sr. and Claudia Anderson, and his sisters Barbara Anderson, Jean Anderson and Debrah Clayton.
He leaves behind his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will carry his spirit, love, and stories with them always.
