As long as I can remember my Grandma was my greatest friend, best listener, and perfect playmate, though she got older and you had to talk loud enough for all of Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri to hear she was always interested in what you had to say, and she always had the wisest advice, she had a soft spoken voice that comforted everyone who needed it. When I was a little girl I would go and catch caterpillars around the outside of her house. And one day I put two in a jar and she walks over to me and says. "Look at them fuzzy babies." I´ve never heard such a funny thing in such a soft tone. The last thing her and I talked about was my next season of life. She grabbed my hand and though she was weak she still grabbed my hand firmly and said. "I´ll be right there with you. I was your age once little Kay." So now when I see a hummingbird, hear a wind chime or even see her favorite butterfly I see it as a reminder that she´s right there with me.
