Luc Ballegeer

Lucas Alexandre Andrés Maurice Marie Ballegeer passed peacefully on October 27, 2022 at the age of 68. He is survived by his children – Kevin, Katelyn and Bryan (and their spouses – Jen, Brett and Tiffany) and his six Grandchildren – Justin, Jasmin, Skylar, Aiden, Mason & Landon. He is also survived by his sister, Louise Cesbron-Ballegeer and brother, Marc Ballegeer.
Luc loved to tell everyone he was born in the Belgian Congo and then explain where and what that was. He then spent the good part of his early life in Brussels, Belgium where he started his career in Aviation. That brought him to the United States where he spent the second part of life, moving from New York to Indiana. His work and love of all things Aviation allowed for him and his family to travel and have so many wonderful experiences. After retiring, he moved back to New York to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
His passion for photography has left his family with hundreds of priceless pictures that they will cherish forever.
Luc had a huge personality and an even bigger heart. He will be missed by all.
Services will be held from 4-6p on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, 692 US-6, Mahopac, NY 10541.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks to donate to the 'Saving the Blue' organization, www.savingtheblue.org. Over the years, Luc became an avid shark lover and wanted to help protect and save the beautiful creatures.
