Lucia Daniele

DANIELE, Lucia. Born on July 13, 1935, and passed away on December 8, 2021, at the age of 86. She came to the United States at age 19 to Pennsylvania. She then married her lifelong love Carlo in 1956 and moved to Detroit, Michigan together. She was always an extremely dedicated person who worked in numerous types of jobs. Lucia worked as a seamstress for Winkelman's Women's Clothing Store, packed jars in an olive factory, worked on an assembly line that sprayed enamel on bathtubs, and took charge of the kitchen as a head chef for the Zuccaro family catering company. Lucia was an instrumental part of her family who loved them all dearly. Lucia was the mother of two children, her son, Robert born in 1958 with his wife Eleanora, and her daughter Dina born in 1960 with husband Thomas Umbarger. She was an amazing grandmother to four boys, Nicholas, David, Justin, and Scott. Lucia was also blessed to become the best great grandmother to Leo and Eleanora.
Lucia and Carlo owned rental properties and Lucia worked with Carlo in cleaning/repairing the homes for rent and she had a knack for collecting rent from the more difficult tenants. She eventually stopped working to follow her passion of family, friends, and church where she was constantly serving one of them. She was a spitfire who outworked anyone and everyone. From sun up to sun down she was either cooking, cleaning, or caring for family and friends. Lucia never forgot a birthday, never forgot a recipe, never forgot anything. But most importantly, she loved her family equally and endlessly. She was an amazing woman and will truly be missed by anyone who had the pleasure to meet her.
One last little remark to leave you on a good note to remember her by. Lucia had a saying "I thought I made a mistake once, but I was wrong"
Lucia's Funeral will be held on Friday, December 17th, 2021, Instate 10am until 11am Mass at St. Malachy Church, 14115 E 14 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, 48312 (Btw. Schoenherr & Hayes).
