Lucia Llanes Perez, 76, of Rockport, TX sadly passed away on October 14, 2024. She entered this world in San Antonio, TX on October 23, 1947; born to Elias Llanes and Eva Sedillo. Lucia married Faustino Perez, Sr. on December 16, 1967.
She is survived by her husband, four children and their spouse: Victoria and David Martin, Faustino, Jr. and Jennifer Perez, Josie and Lee Bonnett, and Jesus Perez, nine grandchildren: Vanessa Moore, Stephanie Herny, Desiree Upton, David Martin, Austin Perez, Alyssa Perez, Gabriel Perez, Jacob Bonnett, Luke Bonnett and thirteen great grandchildren.
Lucia had multiple roles in life: daughter, sister, wife, mother, homemaker, Dallas Cowboy fan, but her two favorite roles in life were being a grandmother and a gardener. She welcomed each of her grandchildren into this world with a handmade quilt; that she made with love and care. She taught them how to sew, cook, garden, and enjoyed doing art and craft with them, going to their school functions and accompanying them on field trips. Some of the fondest memories the grandchildren recall is that she made the best fideo sopa, telling them traditional Hispanic scary stores, watching the “Price is Right” and going to Dairy Queen with her and occasionally being “kicked out of the house” to play when they would not behave.
Lucia was loving and kindhearted with a bit of sass and feistiness. No matter what life brought her way she never lost her deep faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She always made everyone feel loved and welcomed and she forgave easily; something that we should all aspire to do.
