Pico Rivera, CA
Lucila Rivera, 85, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026. She was born on October 31, 1940, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Amado and Maria Diaz. Lucila (Lucy) came to the United States from Mexico in the 60’s. She then married, moved to New Mexico, and had a daughter and a son. After the passing of her husband, Pete, she moved to Los Angeles to be close to her family. Years later, she remarried and had another daughter. She worked as a nurse at General Hospital in Los Angeles, served as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant at a nursing home, and was also a caregiver for her elderly Mother. Her love of music was what brought her happiness. She especially loved Motown and Doo Wop oldies and often played her favorite music at maximum volume on the weekends. She found great joy in family gatherings and being surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her children, Diana, Steve, and Jackie, her sons-in-law, Victor and George, and her five grandchildren, Madison, Stephany, Matthew, Sophia, and Morgan. She also leaves behind her siblings, Antonio, Rosa, and Hortensia.
