Lucile Jackson Obituary

Lucile was a Gold Star Widow having lost her husband Jimmy B. Taylor, who was killed in action, during the Vietnam War in 1966. She worked as a homemaker and in manufacturing at Mount Vernon Mills in East Tallassee and at Ampex in Opelika for many years. She was a member of East Tallassee Church of Christ and, in the 1970's, worked to print the church bulletin.
Always interested in health, Lucile was an avid walker and enjoyed walking the Talasi Lake Nature trail. She was an adventurous individual with a lively personality, a good sense of humor and, sometimes, a fearsome temper if provoked. Lucile enjoyed her family and she never forgot a birthday. She was fond of all manner of animals; dogs, birds, chickens, ducks, horses and goats are some of the animals she entertained over the years. She even had a pet mule named Alex that she rode around her neighborhood when she was a youngster.
We will miss the fierce spark of energy and humor that was Lucile's spirit, but we may find comfort in the memory of her long eventful life, in the laughter we shared and in her peaceful passing from the light of this life to the light of the Divine.
Lucile is survived by her children Mike Walden, Angela Andersen, Diana Havener and Linda Walden; five grandchildren Tiffany Toney, Christopher Toney, David Walden, Nathan Taylor and Rosa Taylor; her sister Jeanette Floyd, her brother Fletcher Meadows and sister-in-law Sally Meadows; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Enhabit Hospice of Alexander City, AL with special thanks to Jarod Baker.
Lucile's remains will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tallassee near her late husband, the former Chief of Police of Carrville Alabama, Albert C. Jackson Sr, who passed away in 1973.
