Kok Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Cottage GroveLucille Tamayo (Oda) Aegerter "GRANDMA" age 93, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025. Mom was loved by so many in the community, she will be missed immensely.
Mom was born in Honolulu Hawaii on July 2, 1932 to Otoichi and Clara Oda. Hawaii still being a Territory. As Pearl Harbor was being attacked by Air and Sea, Mom was watching it first hand. She lived right there in Pearl City. During the Korean War she met a Sailor named James. Their lives continued in marriage and the culmination of 7 children. As life continued on for Mom, she took on several different jobs. We believe her most rewarding to her was at the School District. There she watched over the kids. They all called her Grandma. As the kids grew in age, they continued calling her Grandma, as she belonged to them. Mom loved it. Mom's caretakers all called her Grandma. Mom made a lasting impression on all she came.in contact with.
Grandma is survived by her children Judd (Teresa), Joseph, Tammy, John (Kathi), Jeff (Anne) and Lesly (Stuart) Diedrich; many grandchildren and great granchildren; sister Lola Alamieda; sister-in-law Edith Oda and many other nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Otoichi and Clara Oda; son James Jr.; grandson Trea Aegerter; great grandson Everett Diedrich-Waid; siblings Verna (William) Wilson, Joseph Oda, Donald (Reiko) Oda, June Oda and Leimomi "Sweetie" (Herbert) Gabriel and son-in-law Tim Beadle.
