Lucille Ethel Jones, 96, of Amarillo, passed peacefully in her home on June 10, 2024.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 11 am in the funeral home’s Chapel of Angels, with Reverend Chris Condit of Hillside Christian North Campus presiding. A private burial will follow in Clayton, New Mexico.
Lucille was born on July 22, 1927, in Texline, Texas to Jack and Florence (Burnett) Hamilton. She was a property manager for many years, renting them and flipping them after renovating them when necessary. Her work ethic was unmatched. She arose each day with a set of tasks in mind and did not stop until they were done. She often had Toni pulling nails for her, as it was the only task she could do at the age of six.
Lucille was the clan leader of her family of three. She adored her family and loved them all dearly. She was compassionate and understanding, and would do anything for each of them; going above and beyond in most circumstances.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers J.E. and Grady; and her children Rosanna and Ronnie. She leaves to cherish her memories her granddaughter Toni Karl of Amarillo, whom she raised as her own; as well as many extended family and dear friends.
