Lucille Marie Kaiser, 95, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 5, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Throughout her life, she faced profound loss, yet her unwavering faith and deep love for God never faltered. She drew strength from her devotion, inspiring all who knew her.
Lucille was born in Hazleton in 1930 to Julia Fagan O'Rourke and Cecil O'Rourke. She was raised by her mother and two aunts on Church Street in Hazelton, where she enjoyed a happy childhood surrounded by strong, caring women who helped shape the woman she would become. She graduated from St. Gabriel's, where she was crowned homecoming queen, reflecting her vibrant spirit and the warmth she shared with everyone around her.
Lucille was a registered nurse, graduating from Pittston School of Nursing. She took time off to raise her eight children, and later returned to her nursing duties, working at the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital in Kingston for many years. Even when she retired, she never truly stopped caring for others. Whether family, friends, or neighbors, she was always the first to appear at someone's side in their greatest time of need, offering comfort, strength, prayer, and a steady hand.
For many decades, Lucille was a devoted member of Holy Saviour and St. Mary's Catholic Churches, where she joyfully sang in the choir and dedicated her time to the East End Women's Club, building lasting friendships and faithfully serving others.
Her greatest joy was her family, and she made it a point to be present for all of life's moments, both big and small. She could always be found cheering from the sidelines at countless baseball, basketball, football, and soccer games, wrestling matches, recitals, school programs, and every celebration in between. She was a devoted and proud mother, grandmother, and "GG". She always offered her unwavering love and support and was their number one fan.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony; her two sisters, Mary Theresa and Roberta (Bobbie); three children, Julia, Joseph, and Lucille; and her cherished grandson, Neil.
She leaves behind a loving family who treasured every moment with her. She is survived by sons, James Kaiser and wife, Rhonda, Dallas; Anthony Kaiser III and wife, Lauren, Shavertown; William Kaiser and wife, Sharon, Wilkes-Barre; Robert Kaiser, Plains Township; and David Kaiser and wife, Ginny, Woodbridge, Va.; along with grandchildren, Leah Pambianco and husband, Luke, Sweet Valley; Gina Yachimowicz and husband, Josh, Wilkes-Barre; William Kaiser Jr. and wife, Colleen, Wilkes-Barre; Stephanie O'Donnell and husband, Kevin, Mount Holly Springs; Stacy Keiser and husband, Randy, Alburtis; Robert Kaiser Jr. and wife, Sue, Bel Air, Md.; Lt. Michael Kaiser, San Diego, Calif.; Joseph Kaiser Jr., Swoyersville; Alicia Kaiser, Dallas; David Kaiser Jr., Chantilly, Va.; and Matthew Kaiser and wife, Devin, Carrollton, Va.; great-grandchildren, Cole, Evan, Mylee, Kevin, Jaxin, Isla, Sarah, Olivia, Elliott, Mason, Maisie, and Sylvee; and many nieces, nephews, friends and family. Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on through them.
Though her family mourns her loss, they take comfort in knowing that she is at peace in God's loving embrace. Her love was a gift to all who knew her, and her absence will be deeply felt. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
The entire family would like to thank Billy and Colleen Kaiser for the five years of loving care and help they provided to our mother, ensuring the best possible quality of life every day.
The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Nicholas — Saint Mary's Catholic Church. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
