Lucille Mathis Obituary
Lucille Hensley Mathis, 85, left this world peacefully and entered her Heavenly home on November 11, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born on December 23, 1938, to the late L.J. and Lonie (Sitton) Hensley of the Caney Fork Community in Cullowhee, N.C.
She is survived by her children: Louise (Jackie) Biddix of Dillsboro, N.C., Charlie (Pat) Mathis of Caney Fork, N.C., Doug (Diane) Mathis of Tuckasegee, N.C., and Steve Mathis of Sylva, N.C. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dillard Mathis, child, Kenneth Ray Mathis, and 10 siblings.
A graveside service for Lucille Mathis will be held at 2pm on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Balsam Grove Cemetery, Caney Fork Road, Cullowhee, NC; with Revs. Lionel Parris and Jason Bryson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Mathis, Brandon Mathis, Mark Biddix, Travis Jones, James Roberson, Issiah Mathis, Marion Mathis, and McLean Hall. Honorary pallbearer: Hunter Mathis.
