Lucinda Lane Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 17, 2022.
Lucinda Lane, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on November 16,2022 at the age of 70. Lucinda, a true Florida native, who was born and raised in St.Lucie County, has been a resident of Lee County since 2006.
Lucinda is survived by her loving and adoring husband, Joe. She is also survived by her children, Josh Lane and Evie Lane; 7 precious grandchildren, all of whom she frequently boasted over, as well as nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, Moody and Evalea Whiddon, siblings, Molly and Stuart, as well as step son, Mike.
Lucinda, born August 30, 1952, was a graduate of Dan McCarty High and attended Indian River Community College. She passionately sold Agricultural real estate, specializing in citrus groves. Upon leaving the professional world, she became a home maker and devoted her time and energy into her family. Lucinda was dedicated to encouraging her children to pursue their dreams by supporting every team and club they were apart of. She traveled countless miles to watch baseball tournaments or listen to prepared public speaking competitions proudly in support of her children. Lovingly called Momma Lane or Momma Lu by many children, she was attentive and gracious to many.
During her life she placed the greatest value on her faith. Mrs.Lane has been a Sunday school teacher, women's outreach coordinator, youth leader and prayer team member. She helped to organize and establish both a jail and prison ministry as well as working with the migrant population to learn English through reading of children's bibles. She was always available to pray or offer biblical wisdom as she devoted many hours reading, researching and studying of the Bible. She can be described in many ways such as compassionate, loyal, loving, intuitive and intelligent, but above all, she was Godly.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Mrs.Lane leaves behind a legacy in all the many lives she touched by the way she genuinely and authentically loved everyone and knew no stranger.

LucyLue, my crazy life-long friend.
You were there for me so many times as we grew up. We played on blanket pallets in each other´s homes when we were babies.
Birthday parties, vacations summers together.
Weekie Watchee- 13 or 14
Blue Ridge -summer before we were seniors. We were the bomb!
And all the years after that.
We married.
We became moms.
Life kept ticking on but we had our connection. You are a terrific Prayer Warrior as you have showed me and so many others.
I will miss you so!
As the Rose wondered: "Where are y´all goin´ ? Where´s everybody going?

To one of the greatest friends a person could have. We spent a lot of time learning from your mother's conversations with us about how to live your life. You will be missed by so many.
