Lucinda Gay, 93, of Macclesfield passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025, in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Rev. Coleman Markham will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday afternoon, February 21, 2025 from 12 -1:45 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Lucinda was retired from Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf. She was an avid golfer and loved to travel. Sher served her Savior faithfully and sang in the choir. Lucinda was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
Lucinda is survived by daughters, Susan Driver and husband, Allen, Wanda Haltigan and husband, William and Teresa Cryer; grandchildren, Jennifer Todd and husband, John, Ashley Durham and husband, Steve, Tyler Amerson, Amanda Planiczki and wife, Beth, Annie Rose Evans, Betsy Watson and husband, Geoffery, and Christi Williams; great-grandchildren, Trey, John David, Connor, Payton, Weylin, Odin, Keagan, Declan, Kendall, Brody, and Brianna; her great-great-grandchild, Everly, and her very best friend, Mavis Mercer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Pete” Amerson and her second husband, Bobby Lee Gay; son, Robert Bruce Amerson; parents, Raymond and Elsie Mae Fuller, and her brother, Tommy Fuller.
The family would like to express their heartful love to her wonderful roommate, Sallie Boswell for her compassion and love for Lucy and would like to thank the staff at WilMed Nursing and Rehabilitation for their wonderful care.
