Lucy B. Link

VALDESE - Lucy Bumgarner Link, 84, of Rutherford College, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at Autumn Care Nursing Center in Drexel following a period of declining health. Mrs. Link was born on Dec. 23, 1921, in Alexander County to the late Parks Bumgarner and Frances Hall Bumgarner. She was a retired seamstress with Crestline Furniture Co., and was a member of Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Link. Survivors include her husband, Walter David Link of the home; a son, Wayne Link and wife, Donna, of Southport; two daughters, Doris Cannon and husband, Andy, of Arnold, Md., and Elizabeth Kleinschmidt and husband, Charles, of Orlando, Fla.; and a sister, Mattie Lou Bolick of Hickory. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2006, in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese. Officiating will be the Rev. David Hamlyn. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery, Granite Falls. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
