Lucy Mae Matthews was born on April 24, 1949, to the late Preston and Carrie Turnetine (Robert White).

Lucy departed this life and gained her heavenly wings on Friday March 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Lucy was a member of B2 Ministries under the leadership of Pastors Nathaniel and Angelia Thornton, she was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She had the honor of helping raise many of her grands and great grands. In her early years, after high school she worked in the cafeteria and later on she worked as a housekeeper. She was a Mary Kay Consultant for over 30 years.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents Preston and Carrie Turnetine (Robert White); a son and daughter in law, Melvin and Twila Matthews; four sisters, Lonzetta Armstrong, Sadie Thurnetine, Lenora Tensley and JennieBelle Lewis; three brothers, O.V. Turnetine, Robert Summerville and Columbus Summerville; Two grandsons and one great grandson.

Lucy leaves to cherish her precious memories, two sons, Travis Matthews of Star City, Arkansas, Toney (LaRhonda) Matthews of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; two daughters, Jennette (James) Goldsmith of Fort Worth, Texas and Emmely Matthews of Monticello, Arkansas; twenty-five grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren, twelve great, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved her dearly.

Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2026, at Brown Funeral Home Pine Bluff, AR.

Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Bethlehem #2 Missionary Baptist Church, Yorktown, Arkansas, Pastor Nathaniel Thornton Eulogist. Pastor Angelia Thornton, Mistress of Ceremony. Interment in Person Chapel Cemetery, Maroney, Arkansas by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, AR.
