Lucy C Scott, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, auntie and friend, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, in Fort Myers, Florida. She was born on January 25, 1947, in Monticello, Georgia, to W.D Brown and Eva Mae Carter. Lucy lived a life full of compassion, joy, and unwavering support for all those fortunate enough to know her.
A dedicated nurturer: Lucy was a mother a grandmother to just about everybody that knew her. Her thoughtfulness drew people to her, and her warmth kept them in her life for years to follow always ready to have a good time. She had a host of jobs from Eastman Kodak to a school bus driver whatever she needed to make ends meet and providing for her family was ALWAYS her main priority.
Lucy is survived by her loving son Shunn and daughter in-law Sonia. She was a proud mother and grandmother and blessed enough to see her cherished numerous great grandchildren too many to list—who brought her immeasurable joy. Countless other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her 5 siblings and her parents, the last of her generation.
Throughout her life, Lucy was known for her kindness, high spirits and straight forward approach with all family and friends a witty sense of humor, and a quickness for the facts. She was a wonderful force in the world, someone who lit up every room she entered and touched the hearts of all who met her. Her passion for people and her unwavering desire to help others defined her and her spirit of always having your back in her on way.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in her honor at a later date to follow. If anyone whishes to purchase flowers, pics, etc. and bring the day of please if you wish to keep please collect upon conclusion. Donations greatly appreciated please see Shunn. God Bless.
