Luigi Battaglino, age 83, a longtime Derby resident, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of 58 wonderful years to Maria (Coppola) Battaglino. He was born in Puglianello, Italy, on March 24, 1943, the son of the late Pietro and Gelsomina (Guerra) Battaglino. He spent his working career as a Machinist at Sikorsky Aircraft for many years before his retirement. Luigi loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed his time outside in the garden. He was a fantastic cook and also had a knack for wine making. Above all, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren and family. Besides his wife, Luigi is survived by his daughters, Mina Paolino (Michael) and Theresa Worby (Nicholas Multari); grandchildren, Avery, Matthew and Brianna Battaglino, John Paolino (Nayara), Teresa Paolino, Christian Franklin and Nicholas Multari; his brother Egidio Battaglino; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Louis Battaglino; and his brothers, Antonio and Mario Battaglino. The family would like to thank Luigi's caregivers, Anna, Kristen and Tamara, for their care and compassion. Luigi's funeral services were privately held with his immediate family present.
