Luis Franco Orozco
Born November 25, 1930 in El Paso, Texas passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on May 17, 2025.
Luis was 94 years old and a resident of Salinas for 79 years. He was a faithful man who loved God and his family above all things. He had a very full and blessed life. Luis married the love of his life Rachel and was blessed to have two sons. They had been married for 75 years. He was a loving and caring man who would do anything for his wife, sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. After working in the fields and the Sugar Beet Factory in Spreckels, he got a job as a truck driver for Union Ice Company in Salinas and worked his way up to Refrigeration Engineer, until he retired 40 + years later. He was a very hardworking and dedicated employee. Luis was a very accomplished and talented man. He was an artist and painted some beautiful pictures, he enjoyed fishing, especially when he went with his sons, he was a half marathon runner for many years, was a great bowler and scored quite a bit of 200 plus games. Luis was a mechanic who worked on and repaired all his cars and trucks. Most of all he was a musician who loved to play the base guitar, accordion, organ, harmonica and sing. In 1982 Luis received Jesus as his Lord and Savior and his life was forever changed. He loved God and devoted the rest of his life to serving Him. He was a very active member of Liberty Chapel Community Church. He served as a Board Member for many years, was involved in the Men's Ministry, was an Usher and would play the base on the worship team. He would also occasionally sing. Luis was a great supporter of the Missions Ministry. He made a lot of trips to Baja Mexico to make repairs on the church and buildings, he also helped to build a new Bible College in San Quintin, Mexico. Luis was a loving, caring man who will be missed very much by his family and all those who had the privilege to know him. Gone from our sight, but never our memories. Gone from our touch, but never our hearts.
Luis was preceded in death by his grandson Bryan and great grandson Tristan. He is survived by his wife of 75 years Rachel, sons Louie (Connie) and David. Grandchildren Leticia and Jesse (Laura), great grandchildren Karly and Brayden, great, great grandchildren Landon and Declan and numerous step grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
