Luis A. Rosa (BIBI), 56, passed away on December 14, 2025.
Luis, affectionately known as "BIBI" to many, was a loving father, devoted brother, loving son, loving uncle and proud grandfather. Born in Chicago, Luis spent most of his youth in Caguas, Puerto Rico, where his heart was deeply rooted in the island's rich culture and traditions. He was known for his infectious sense of humor, always ready with a joke that could make anyone laugh and feel at ease. His humor was one of the many things that made him so special and loved by everyone around him.
A hardworking man and true family man, BIBI always put his loved ones first. He made the journey back to Chicago for one of the most important moments of his life-the birth of his only child, Crystal. From that moment forward, Luis became not only a father but a protector. Every time Crystal needed someone, whether it was to fix a problem or figure something out, he was there. He made sure she was safe and that nothing ever happened to her. His presence in her life gave her strength and security, and his wisdom guided her through countless moments. Crystal loved her father dearly and would not be the person she is today if it weren't for the courage and love he surrounded her with, even as she grew older.
Luis had a deep love for Puerto Rican culture and music, especially jíbaro music. He was often seen with his güiro in hand, playing along to the rhythms in his soul. If there was a parranda, you could be sure BIBI was there, often alongside his cousin, Beatrice Mojica, and his mother, Carmen Garcia. Together, they were inseparable when it came to music, laughter, and celebration. Now, BIBI, Beatrice, and Carmen are reunited, continuing their love for music and life in the afterlife.
Luis spent much of his youth in Caguas, Puerto Rico, where he formed a breakdancing group that became a big part of his life. He was also a lifeguard during this time, known for his dedication and his willingness to help others. His love for dance, music, and serving his community shaped much of his youth and brought him closer to the people around him.
BIBI was also known for his hard work with the Park District. Everyone knew Luis for his dedication and his care for others, always making sure everyone had what they needed and that no one went hungry. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Luis was also his sister's best friend and greatest teacher. Carmen, who is struggling with his loss the most, will always carry the lessons he taught her. From cooking to everything she knows about cars, BIBI was the one who showed her how to do it all. He was a constant presence in her life, and she'll forever cherish their time together.
Luis is survived by his only daughter, Crystal Rosa; his sister, Carmen Rosa; his brother, Anthony Arnau, his two cherished grandchildren, Aniyah and Joziyah Serrano, his two nephews Caleb and Ethan Arnau, his father Felix Rosa and many family members and friends who will miss him deeply.
