Luisa Lazara Montesino Bright

Luisa Lazara Montesino Bright, 83, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025. Visitation will be Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The rosary will be Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Shoals Catholic Church. She will lie – in – state from 11 until 12 p.m. The funeral mass will immediately follow with Father Benny Karimalikkal officiating. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery
Luisa was born in Havana, Cuba in 1942. She and her family fled communism in 1960 and arrived in the USA when she was just 17yrs old. She was hard-working, and nearly single-handedly raised her 3 children, with a wonderful support group that included her parents, sister and brother-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Isabel Lopez, Vicente Montesino, Sr; her brother, Vicente Montesino, Jr; her sister, Mayda Montesino; her husband, Bill Bright; and her great granddaughter, Iyla Bearden.
She leaves behind her son, John Peralta (Maria) from Orlando, Fl; her daughter, Luisa Oswalt (Tommy) from Muscle Shoals; and her son, Felix Peralta (Elena) from Music Shoals.
She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Daisy, who, despite living miles away in NC, Face Timed daily, 3 or 4 times a day; her niece, Tuddy, who's been like another daughter to her; a host of nieces and nephews who loved and cherished her; and all her many grandchildren & great grandchildren who absolutely adored their "Abuelita".
In lieu of flowers you can have a Catholic mass dedicated in her honor.
