We, the families of The Compassionate Friends, send you our heartfelt condolences.
The Compassionate Friends is an international grief support group for parents,
grandparents and siblings who have suffered the heartbreaking loss of a child. Our
only mission is to provide comfort, hope and support to every family experiencing the
death of a son or daughter, brother or sister, or grandchild, and to help others better assist
the grieving family. We meet monthly in Columbus from 7-9 PM on the second Tuesday
of each month at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1479 Morse Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229.

Dear Lisa: Our hearts break for you and the loss of Luke.

I hope these black clouds will roll away for you and your family soon, and you can remember Luke's short life as the special gift it truly was. My family is praying for you and your loved ones to have the strength to prevail through this traumatic time.

We did not know Luke or his family personally, however, my child is a Senior at OOHS.

Our daughter went to school with Luke for 8 years in Lewis Center. She always really enjoyed Luke and always had wonderful things to say about him. Luke and I got to be super close the last year. He would come over and we would just talk about life. I loved hearing about how bad he was at Spanish and all the fun things he was experiencing at college. He has been basically a neighbor to me for 7 years but he grew to be one of the bestest friends I've ever had. He always made me laugh and smile, along with everyone else. I'm so sorry for you loss. I loved Luke and I'll never forget him and the impact he had on me. You guys are in my prayers.

There was never a dull moment around Luke. He was the most compassionate and amazing soul and friend I have ever had. He was constantly making me laugh and smile on the good and bad days and I will never be able to thank him enough for that. Rest in peace angel! Keep kicking that soccer ball in heaven for me. I didn't know your son but take my three boys to watch the games at Ohio Wesleyan since two of them play for OYAA and soccer is their passion.
